These are real U.S. average prices from one year between 1980 and 2026. Type a year. Your score is how fast you find the decade; the exact year is a bonus. Tiles turn green from the left for as much of your year as is right, and each miss adds another price. Five guesses.

How to play
Tiles turn green from the left for as long as your guess is right. Everything after the first wrong part stays grey.
1995Wrong century: the answer is in the 2000s.2005Right century, wrong decade.2017Right decade, wrong year: it's 2010–2019 but not 2017.
There's no higher-or-lower hint. Use the prices to work out which way to go.
You start with two prices. Each miss adds one. The last clue is the most year-specific one: a stamp price or average hourly pay. Your fifth guess sees all six.
Your score is the guess on which you found the decade. Once you have it, keep going for the exact year or stop and see the results. Your streak counts days you get the decade on the first guess.
When the game ends, every card shows each item's price and its work time (price ÷ average hourly pay), then and now.
